Gerald Clayton

by Philharmonie Luxemburg

He's the son of bassist and bandleader John Clayton, nephew of Jeff Clayton and was selected as one of the best new players by the Downbeat Magazine! He is Gerald Clayton, young American Jazz pianist who just turned 27 last week. Despite his young age , Gerald Clayton already is kind of an old stager of the Jazz music scene and has already collaborated with some of the top musicians in the field, such as Roy Hargrove, Diana Krall, Hank Jones, Kenny Barron Benny Green and of course, The Clayton Brothers.

His first album "Two Shade" is a fan-funded project through the ArtistShare label. ArtistShare, for thse who don't know that platform, gives you, as a fan, to fund and directly participate in the projects of your favorite artists.
He released his second album "Bond - The Paris Sessions" on May 10 on the Decca Records label. If you "like" his fanpage, you can download one of the tracks for free! :-)

Have a look at this short interview with Gerald Clayton, recorded in 2008 at Umbria Jazz!

Don't miss this congenial and most sympathetic pianist with his Trio at the Philharmonie on May 24!
